DawnDawn Privacy Policy
Dawn ("the app") has no account system and no server. This policy describes exactly what Dawn accesses, why, and where it goes — which, for almost everything, is nowhere but your own device.
1. Data Dawn collects and why

Dawn has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics SDK, and no advertising SDK. Nothing above is linked to your identity, and none of it is used for tracking, because there is no server for it to be sent to.
2. Permissions Dawn requests, in the exact wording iOS shows you
- Health: "Dawn reads your sleep data from Health to calculate your Dawn Score and personalise your bedtime recommendations." / "Dawn writes your sleep sessions to Health so your sleep data stays in one place."
- Camera: "Dawn's Take a Photo wake challenge asks you to photograph a chosen object to prove you're up — the photo is compared on-device and never leaves it."
- Notifications: used to schedule and deliver your alarms and evening reminders.
- Alarms (AlarmKit, iOS 26+): "Dawn schedules your wake-up alarms so they ring even when the app is closed."
You can decline any of these. Declining Camera disables only the "Take a Photo" wake challenge (choose a different one instead); declining Health disables sleep import/export but the rest of the app, including Insights from manually-logged nights, works normally.
3. Payment
Dawn is sold as a one-time paid download through the App Store. Apple handles the entire transaction — Dawn never receives your payment details and has no way to see them. There is no subscription, no in-app purchase, and no account tying your purchase to an identity Dawn manages.
4. Data retention and deletion
Everything Dawn stores lives in the app's local storage on your device. Deleting the app deletes this data. Settings → Reset Dawn does the same from inside the app, without uninstalling it. Since Dawn has no server, there is no separate "delete my data from your servers" step — the app is the whole thing. Health data you've written stays in Apple Health per Apple's own retention.
5. Children's privacy
Dawn is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of Dawn after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. Check back periodically for the current version.
